Reversing to the left ...
Reversing to the left is often tested during the driving test. Of course, you won't know whether you have to do this manoeuvre until the examiner asks, however, what you know already is that you need to be able to do the exercise easily and safely.
As with your reversing to the right exercise, you will need this skill when parking in car parks, reversing into driveways and other similar situations.
When doing this exercise, as with all your special manoeuvres, you will be the odd one out, which means that you must be fully aware of what is happening all around, all the time.
Your 'OWL-like' observation is, once again, especially important on this exercise in order to see pedestrians who may cross behind your vehicle or other vehicles that might approach.
When you have mastered the skills in this section, you will be able to reverse safely into a side road on the left using proper observation, under full control and with reasonable accuracy.
