Parallel parking ...
A lot of drivers will walk miles rather than try to reverse into a parking space! This is because they were never taught this manoeuvre by their driving instructors.
The parallel parking manoeuvre was introduced into the driving test in the 1990's; before that, the first experience of parallel parking for many was on a busy shopping street with no help - this often ended in disaster! Consequently, the manoeuvre is often considered as 'difficult'.
The good news is that other new drivers, just like you, who have followed the SmartLearners programme realise that parallel parking can be quite easy. And you will soon be joining them!
