Getting it right in theory
Before taking your practical driving test you must pass the theory test. While this book is not specifically designed for theory test preparation, by completing the quizzes you will have gained a lot of essential knowledge to help you pass.
You will be exempt from the theory test if you already hold a full licence for a motorcycle or a car with automatic transmission.
The theory test comprises a series of multiple response questions and an ‘on screen’ hazard perception test. The best way to prepare for your theory test is to combine the learning of theory with practice.
We recommend the official DSA publications for theory test preparation - you can also visit the DSA theory test web site to take mock tests.
Your driving instructor will give help and advice on specific theory test preparation.
